Coolendel covers a total of 127 acres of bush and within the park area has 5 separate camping areas. The Main Camp and The Burrows feature open spaces and plenty of good shady spots to set up your campsite. Canoe Flat and Willow Flat are smaller and more secluded areas, whilst Sandy Beach allows the camper to set up on the banks of the Shoalhaven River. Good amenities blocks, with hot showers, are situated throughout the park for the use of all campers.
There is nothing, in fact, to distract from the natural beauty of the bush setting with its myriad of bird and animal life. Regular visitors to the camp sites include kangaroos, possums, goannas, peacocks and what is reputed to be the worlds largest wombat.
